Sheep Farming Has Reserves Print E-mail
   On February 18, Acting Head of the Republic of Dagestan Sergey Melikov held a visiting meeting on the development of the agro-industrial and fisheries complexes of Dagestan.
    First Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Russia Dzhambulat Khatuov, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation Sergey Yastrebov, Assistant to the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the North Caucasus Federal District Vladimir Nadykto took part in the video conference. The meeting was also attended by Deputy Director of the Department of implementation of the state program of socio-economic development of the North Caucasus Federal district of the Russian Ministry of economic development Elvira Shaposhnikov, Deputy Chairman of the Government of Dagestan, Abdulmuslim Abdulmuslimov, the Minister of agriculture and food of KMG battal Batalov, the deputies of the people's Assembly of Dagestan, the heads of Executive authorities and municipalities, as well as producers of alcoholic beverages.
   During the meeting, Dzhambulat Khatuov also raised the topic of sheep breeding, which is particularly relevant for the region. “We know that the products of Dagestan are in demand throughout the country. The sales market is quite large, including the Crimea, the Krasnodar Territory and the largest resort areas like Sochi,” said the First Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation.
At the same time, he expressed the opinion that the republic has reserves in terms of promoting sheep products in other regions of the country, as well as in terms of improving the quality of wool. In the near future, it is planned to consider the achievements of sheep farmers in Dagestan.
