Uzbekistan Raises Karakul sheep breeding Print E-mail
      The state subsidy in Uzbekistan for each unit of Karakul skins produced and sold for export will be 50 thousand soms ($5,6US), for each unit of Karakul fur -75 thousand soms ($8,4US). This is stated in the decree of the President of the Republic Shavkat Mirziyoyev "On measures for the integrated development of the Karakul industry".
     The document aims to increase the number of sheep of Karakul breed and further increase the production of Karakul products.
As one of the measures, it is proposed to create a Fund for the development of Karakul, which will provide financial support for breeding activities. It is planned to allocate 50 billion soms ($5.6 million US) of budget funds for seven years with a return without interest.
