On February, 13th there took place counsel based on the selective-genetic center “Stud farm “The second five year’s plan”. The theme was “Rising of birth rate and livability of lambs”.
Deputy Minister of Stavropol agricultural ministry G. Bobryshova, representatives of the NASB M. Egorov, V. Serdyukov and A.Surov, Director of the Russian Scientific and Research Institution of Sheep- and Goats breeding M. Selionova, representatives of the Regional Ministry of agriculture and its’ department of Veterinary, scientists of the Stavropol agricultural university, the leaders and specialists of different farms participated in the meeting. During the meeting the participants visited sheep breeding sets of the Stud farm “the second five year’s plan”, inspected the wintering on the farm, preparing of the animals and accommodation for the coming lambing period. His comment of zootechnical and economical situation in the farms and the nowadays situation in the sheep breeding branch got the head of the stud-farm I. Serdyukov. There was organized an exhibition of the breeding sheep of different classes of animals in the centre of the village Bolshaya Dzhalga. All the participants of the meeting and guests could prize animals’ facilities and discuss the issues of the future development of sheep breeding in Russia and in this stud-farm. Scientists made their presentations on the counsel. So the report of the Director of the scientific institution Marina Selionova clarified the modern methods and ways of intensification of sheep reproduction. The head of technology and selection department of NASB Alexander Surov reported about the ways of increasing the breeding efficiency and birth rate of ewes, livability of lambs using the selection and biotechnological methods, improvement of feeding and making the comfort conditions for the animals. Corresponding member Vasily Abonejev, member of Academy of Science Vasily Moroz, head of marketing department of NASB Vasily Serdyukov pressed all the participants and visitors not to plead the difficult period in the branch, but to improve the technology, increase the sheep productivity and make the best use of their genetic potential.

According to the Order of the Federal Ministry from December, 29th № 538 LLC “Volgograd-Edilbay” (Volgograd region), Agricultural production cooperative “Vtoraya Pyatiletka” (Stavropol region), Kolkhoz-stud farm “Manych” (Stavropol region) got a status of SELECTIVE-GENETIC CENTRE. Earlier this status got Agricultural production cooperative Stud-farm “Vostok” (Stavropol region). The purpose of this action – to help agricultural enterprises to prepare the same consignments of wool for the enterprises of the domestic light and textile industry according to the requirements of the State standard 30702-2000 "Wool: trade agricultural and industrial classification"
About forty wool graders from six regions of Russia will participate in a seminar.
